Mission

​Switch Magazine was born in Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria—not in a boardroom, but on campus, driven by a simple yet powerful idea: to celebrate outstanding youth in Arewa (Northern Nigeria) and spotlight the brilliance often overlooked.

What began as a campus magazine quickly revealed something bigger.

After our very first edition, it became clear that excellence knew no regional boundaries. The stories we were telling—of innovation, leadership, resilience, and impact—were not just Arewa stories. They were Nigerian stories. And soon after, African stories.

We took the bold step to go national.

Today, Switch Magazine has evolved into a global platform with Africa at its core, reaching audiences across the continent and the diaspora. Our focus has expanded, but our mission remains unchanged: to highlight African excellence, amplify authentic voices, and rebrand Africa through powerful storytelling.

From campuses to capitals, from local communities to global stages, Switch continues to document the people shaping Africa’s present and future.
